The next time, He'll use fire

PreWrath author, Kristen Wisen, has been blogging for a couple of months now.  She has just written a post comparing the destruction of the flood of Noah with the destruction that will accompany Christ’s second coming.  The passage which parallels these events is found in II Peter 3.  She states, “The next time, He’ll use fire.”  You can check out her post at this link here.  (No excuses now, Diva.)

This is coincidental because I just had a conversation with someone who insists that the Day of the LORD is one singular day.  One of my points (among many) is that of the parallel of God’s wrath during the flood of Noah.  It shows that the time of God’s wrath will be an extended period of time spanning possibly months, maybe even longer.  Here are my thoughts as expressed to this post-tribber:

Remember the story of Noah. When Noah boarded the ark, it was the
last day for the old earth. Then there was an extended time of destruction
whereby God poured out His wrath. Then when Noah got off the ark, it was the
beginning of the new world. It will be the same with the end of this age.
Christians will be raptured, then there will be a period of destruction, then we
will "get off the ark" in a manner of speaking, inheriting the new world which
is under the reign of Jesus Christ.

In other blogging news, Fred Butler at Hip and Thigh continues his series on eschatology.  Just how long will this guy stay with this topic?  I don’t know, but every post has been insightful and worth reading.  Check it out at this link here. The subject in this one is whether the first resurrection mentioned in Revelation 20:4-6 is physical or spiritual.  He interacts with views proposed by Meredith Kline and Kim Riddlebarger.

Finally, for those who keep their eyes on Jerusalem, here is a news story which reports that the European Union’s Javier Solana is condemning the demolition of homes by Israelis in Jerusalem.  Read the short update here.

    And finally,

Have fun and stay busy – Luke 19:13
